Acting. Set design. Theater technology. Students in Adelphi’s Department of Theatre learn the ropes on stage or in the wings. Taught by faculty and staff with extensive experience, our programs immerse you in the various roles of theater life. Whether you prefer the spotlight or the relative anonymity of the backstage, you’ll not only study a variety of artistic genres, from the traditional to the avant-garde, but you’ll gain practical skills by participating in more than 20 productions throughout the academic year, held in our state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center (AUPAC). And in your off-hours, attend performances just 23 miles away in Manhattan, the cultural capital of the world.

Regardless of the role you want to play, Adelphi’s BFA programs in Acting and Design/Technology can help you to explore your talent, expand your horizons and prepare you for an exciting career in theater, film or television.

The Department of Theatre offers the following programs:

» BFA in Theatre Arts: Acting

» BFA in Theatre Arts: Design/Technology

» Minors in Acting or Design/Technology

Theatre majors can also enter the Scholar Teacher Education Program in the Ruth S. Ammon School of Education.
